simpleuglytruth: ambiguity schmambiguity

hey friends,

discussing sharon pollock today in my cdn drama class (one of my most favorite cdn playwrights) and i was surprised at the very visible divide between fans and haters of hers. She wrote a play called "blood relations" about lizzie borden and creates some interesting ambiguities....what do you think about ambiguitiy? helping the play spark discussion or simple indecisiveness from the playwright?

I would tend to say the former because one of the reasons shakespeare is still so popular is because many of his themes are ambiguious and that creates the frantic academic who tries soooo very hard to figure it out....they eat this stuff up.
